The semifinals are set at the WTA Elite Trophy Zhuhai, and some big names are joining the party. The four semifinalists—Petra Kvitova, Johanna Konta, Zhang Shuai and Elina Svitolina—have all gone undefeated in Round Robin play, and Svitolina is the only one who has dropped a set (just one).

Konta, who assured herself of a Top 10 finish when she defeated Sam Stosur in her first match, defeated France’s Caroline Garcia, 6-2, 6-2, on Friday to set up a semifinal with Svitolina.

Kvitova advanced with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Barbora Strycova, and will face Zhang Shuai in the semifinals. Kvitova has dropped just eight games in her two matches. Kvitova and Zhang have split their two previous meetings.

Zhang finished last year ranked No.186 in the world but has since risen inside the Top 30. Zhang owns a 7-6 record against the Top 20 this season. Previously she had gone 3-25 in such matches.

Svitolina defeated Konta in their only previous meeting but it took place all the way back in 2013.
