The ATP’s #NextGen is well represented at the Open Sud de France this week, as 19-year-old Alexander Zverev and 20-year-old Daniil Medvedev have both advanced to Friday’s quarterfinal round.

Medvedev comes to France at a career-high ranking of 63 in the world and fresh off his first career ATP final in Chennai in early January.

He has won in straight sets in both of his matches, defeating Tobias Kamke in the first round and easing past No.8-seeded Fernando Verdasco on Thursday.

The Moscow native broke Verdasco twice in each set and got across the finish line in 61 minutes to set a quarterfinal clash with No.2-seeded Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. Playing in Montpellier for the first time since 2010, Tsonga blasted past Pierre Hugues-Herbert in just 44 minutes behind seven aces and four of five break points converted.

Alexander Zverev made a name for himself last year in Montpellier when he reached his first of four hardcourt semifinals last season, and this year he had to battle hard to get past Aljaz Bedene in three.

Zverev’s 7-5, 3-6, 6-4 win sets up a quarterfinal with Frenchman Jeremy Chardy.

The French have landed five in the quarterfinals and are led by two-time defending and three-time champion Richard Gasquet, who defeated Malek Jaziri, 7-5, 6-2, for his ninth straight Open Sud de France Victory.

Here is the lineup for Friday’s quarterfinals in Montpellier:
