Anett Kontaveit reached her third final of 2017 with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Czech Tereza Martincova. The Estonian has been one of the WTA’s breakout stories of 2017. After beginning the season at 110 in the WTA rankings she has risen to her current perch just outside the Top 30 and stands to go higher with her performance at Gstaad this week.

The No.3-seed broke five times on 12 opportunities against Martincova and saved five of six break points to improve to 24-10 on the season.

Kontaveit will face Kiki Bertens in the final on Sunday. The Dutchwoman advanced when Spaniard Sara Sorribes Tormo was forced to retire due to a wrist injury after falling behind by a set.

Kontaveit won her only previous meeting against Bertens last year at New Haven.

Bertens will also feature in the doubles final. Paired with Sweden’s Johanna Larsson, she will face Viktorija Golubic and Nina Stojanovic.
