According to L’equipe, Amelie Mauresmo is set to become the new coach of Lucas Pouille in 2019.

Pouille, who parted ways with Emmanuel Planque after a difficult season, should be able to avoid potential conflicts of interest with France’s incoming Davis Cup Captain, because he has already stated that he does not plan to play the event in its new format.

Mauresmo, who coached Andy Murray from June 2014 to May of 2016, guided the Scot to his first career Masters 1000 title on clay as well as the Australian Open final in 2015. She became a mother for the second time in April of 2017 to daughter Ayla.

Pouille finished his 2018 season at 32 in the world with a record of 25-21.

The 24-year-old reached two finals and won the Montpellier title in the first quarter of 2018, but fizzled the rest of the season. After reaching the final in Dubai Pouille only reached the quarterfinals or better at one event (Stuttgart, SF) the rest of the way.

It remains unclear if the pair will work together on a full or part-time basis.
