Caroline Wozniacki came back from the brink on Day 2 of the Australian Open in Melbourne, saving two match points and rallying from 5-1 down in the third set to defeat Jana Fett, 3-6, 6-2, 7-5.

"I'm very proud of the way I came back," Wozniacki said after the match. "It was definitely very difficult. Definitely wasn't my best match, especially in the beginning. It was very different conditions. I just tried to mentally stay focused, tried to play my game. It was very hard, and she was playing well."

Wozniacki saved two match points with Fett serving at 5-1, then broke the World No.119 while she served for the match twice.

"At 5-1, 40-15, I felt like I was one foot out of the tournament," Wozniacki told reporters after the match. "She served a great serve down the T, as well. It was just slightly out. I was kind of lucky."

The Dane broke again for 6-5 and served out the match to reach the third round at the Australian Open for the ninth time in 11 appearances.

"I am extremely happy to be through and to have another opportunity to be out here,” said Wozniacki. “It was definitely a crazy match today. It was experience that did it."

Wozniacki won 25 of 32 points after Fett held double match point while serving at 5-1, 40-15. She will move on to face either Kiki Bertens or Nicole Gibbs in the third round.
