Petra Kvitova will seek to match her career-best winning streak when she faces Yulia Putintseva on Friday, first up on Stadium 2. The Czech is back in the Top 10 and hopes to match her career-best performance at Indian Wells this year. Kvitova reached the quarterfinals here in 2016 and also in 2013.

The age of Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime, who will make his Indian Wells main draw debut today after qualifying for the main draw. Auger-Aliassime is the youngest player in the ATP draw and he is seeking his first ATP win today when he faces Vasek Pospisil. He is currently the World No.169, while Pospsil is ranked 75.

The lifetime record of Spain’s Garbiñe Muguruza at Indian Wells. The Spaniard, who faces World No.100 Sachia Vickery tonight, has never reached the quarterfinals at the BNP Paribas Open.

There are races for the top ranking in the ATP and WTA this week at Indian Wells. Roger Federer needs to reach at least the semifinals to hang on to the top ranking on the men’s side, while Simona Halep can be overtaken by Caroline Wozniacki, but the Dane needs to reach at least the final to get there, no matter what happens to Halep here at Indian Wells.

If Halep makes it through the event and holds the No.1 ranking in Miami, she will tie and pass Angelique Kerber and Kim Clijsters for 15th on the WTA’s all-time weeks at No.1 list with 21 total weeks.

Number of sibling pairs in the doubles draw at Indian Wells this week. They are Bob and Mike Bryan, Alexander and Mischa Zverev, Yung-Jan and Hao-ching Chan and Karolina and Kristyna Pliskova.

The Bryans will face the Zverevs in first-round action. The Pliskova sisters have already been defeated.
