Naomi Osaka has hired Jermaine Jenkins as her new head coach ahead of the BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells. Per WTA Insider Courtney Nguyen, Osaka’s team has confirmed the hiring after the World No.1 posted a picture of her new team on social media on Wednesday.

Jenkins served as Venus Williams’ hitting partner from 2015 until last last season. He is the brother of Jarmere, who is currently Serena Williams’ hitting partner.

A former all-American at Clemson, Jenkins was recently hired to be the USTA’s new national women’s coach.

Osaka parted ways with Sascha Bajin after the Australian Open, just two weeks ago, and struggled on court in Dubai when she was knocked off by Kristina Mladenovic in her first match.
