Just like that, Caroline Wozniacki is back to No. 1 in the world. And the battle between Denmark and Belgium is on.Wozniacki defeated Shahar Peer, 6-2, 6-4, in the quarterfinals of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships on Friday to guarantee she’ll reclaim the No. 1 spot in the world after Kim Clijsters snatched it away a week ago.

"I was very focused going into the match. I knew what I had to do," Wozniacki said. "Of course, it's nice to be back at No.1. It's a good feeling. Yeah, I gave Kim one week. Hopefully now I'll have it for a few more weeks."

The two players are likely to continue bouncing back and forth at least until Indian Wells starts in March.Wozniacki took over the No.1 spot the week after reaching the US Open semifinals last September.

She joined
Jelena Jankovic, Ana Ivanovic and Dinara Safina as recent No. 1s to not have won a Grand Slam title before reaching No. 1.Wozniacki spent 18 straight weeks at No. 1 before Clijsters passed her, in large part thanks to the Belgian’s victory at the Australian Open.
