(March 9, 2011) The Canadian hot-shot, Milos Raonic, got a nice break today, catching a wild-card entry into the Sony Ericsson Open in Miami from March 21st- April 3rd.

The ATP 1000 point event plays host for some of the biggest names in tennis and has a pot of more than $3.5 million. Last year, the tournament was won by
Andy Roddick and Kim Clijsters.

The right-handed 20 year old is 14-3 so far in 2011 and has made huge leaps in ranking, currently sitting at 37th in the world. This means that he is Canada’s highest ranked ATP player ever and the highest ranked tennis player of all time (or at least since computers began calculating rankings in 1973).

We’ll certainly be keeping our eyes on him at Indian Wells and getting ready for Sony Ericsson Open later this month.
