Juan Monaco (May 25, 2013) -- Juan Monaco used his clay court prowess to secure his first title of the season at the Power Horse Cup in Dusseldorf.

Despite having so-so results coming into this week's event, Monaco reclaimed some of the form that took him inside the top ten by reaching the finals. Waiting for him there was Finland's Jarkko Nieminen who was seeking his first title of the year having been to the Sydney finals back in January.

After being tied at 4-all in the first set, Monaco got the needed break he needed to eventually help close out the set 6-4. Another key break of serve for the Argentine, this time early in the second set, helped Monaco maintain his grip on the match.

Monaco soon wrapped up the 6-4, 6-3 win in just 71 minutes. He is know the third Argentine to win a title this year following Horacio Zeballos in Vina del Mar and Juan Martin del Potro in Rotterdam.

"I feel very good every time I go on centre court, I feel something special. With this victory today, it's even more special," said Monaco who cited his earlier visits to the event when it was still a team competition.

Dusseldorf is now Monaco's eighth career ATP title.
