Three teenagers in the quarterfinals of the 2021 US Open? Now that is special. Let’s take a look at the significance of what Emma Raducanu, Carlos Alcaraz and Leylah Fernandez have been up to at the US Open.

18 Age of Carlos Alcaraz who became the youngest ATP player to reach the quarterfinals in US Open Open era history with his five-set win over Peter Gojowczyk on Sunday (youngest since 1963 overall).

1975 Raducanu becomes the first British woman to reach the second week of two different majors since Sue Barker in 1974-1975.

5-0 Raducanu is now 5-0 lifetime against the Top-50 after her straight sets win over Shelby Rogers on Day 8.

1988 Raducanu (18) and Alcaraz (18) means that the US Open has an 18-year-old in both the men’s and women’s singles quarterfinals for the first time since 1988 (Agassi and Sabatini).
