Agnieszka Radwanska's win over Maria Sharapova in the finals of the Sony Ericsson Open was big on the local scene in Miami, but back in Radwanska's homeland of Poland, it was downright earth shattering.

The daily Metro, Poland's largest newspaper, ran a giant headline proclaiming "Agnieszka Radwanska Superstar" the day afte rRadwanska's victory, with the Polska newspaper proclaiming "The whole world admires Radwanska."

The 23-year-old Radwanska is ranked No. 4 in the world, the highest mark ever for a player from Poland. She was born in Krakow, a city of 750,000, and maintains a residence there.

Her hometown paper, Rzeczpospolita, said the title tasted like "the success of a lifetime."
