Known for more than just her aggressive game, fans of Serena Williams are often asking the question, What will she wear next? Serena boasts quite a presence on court, both for her extreme athleticism and her sometimes equally extreme fashion sense. Distracting dresses and excessive accessories have seemed to dominate this diva’s closet in years past. Serena Williams HittingBut for this year’s US Open, fashion-forward Serena may be taking a slightly more conservative route.

Let’s start with the
Nike Smash Classic SS Top and Nike Smash Classic Tank in a subdued shade of light green. Serena will be sporting these tops paired with Nike’s Smash Classic white pleated skirts. These mix-and-matchable ensembles are classic and simple enough to be worn at the US Open or your weekly league tournament (not something that could have been said for a few of Serena’s past choices). The Smash Classic top features a wide neckline and short sleeves while the tank features a fabric panel set behind the V-neck for full coverage in the front and back. Both tops express a conservative feminine style, especially when paired with the Smash Classic Pleated Skirt. In classic white, a standard in tennis style lives on.

Nights in New York can get a little chilly. So, Serena will be sure to pack her
Nike Smash Classic ¾ Sleeve Top, also in white. This not-quite-longsleeve top features a similar neckline to that of the Smash Classic SS Top. With just enough coverage to keep her comfortable in any temperature and just enough style to keep her comfortable under the spotlight, this handy little top is an essential addition to Serena’s US Open wardrobe.

Moving on to her dresses, we will see a bit more of the flashy style we expect from Serena. She'll be wearing
Nike’s Smash Hard Court Serena Dress in un-missable shades of treasure blue and scarlet fire. Feminine but powerful, the Smash Hard Court dress lives up to its wearer. A halter-inspired bodice and sweetheart neckline give this dress its feminine style, while again featuring a full coverage back. With a body-hugging contour fit and a built-in “definition bra,” the Smash Hard Court Dress is figure-flattering without being too revealing. Speaking of flattering, Serena’s other dress of choice for this year’s Open is Nike’s Serena Smash Lawn Dress. A deep V-neck and empire-style waist give this dress a classic but updated look. Again, this dress offers full coverage both in the back and with a mesh panel set behind the V. Thin black piping details give this dress some definition without taking away from the style of classic white.

So, will Serena shock us on the court this season? It doesn’t look like any wild outfits are planned for the US Open at least. Instead, the queen bee of on- and off-court fashion seems to be opting for more classic, conservative styles. Serena may be leaving her diamond-studded crop top at home, but in form-flattering dresses and tasteful pleated skirts, her sense of style will be making an appearance.
