What's weirder, the thought of Roger Federer driving a seven-passenger SUV or the idea of a Mercedes-Benz factory in Tuscaloosa, Alabama?

Both are true, and parts of Mercedes' new ad campaign for its GL-Class SUV that is being built in the United States.

Federer is part of an ad campaign that involves a new television commercial, print ads, social media campaigns, and personal appearances. The commercial, which will debut during the US Open, can be viewed on Youtube -- showcasing Federer in his various roles -- tennis star, endorser, dad, etc.

Federer is one of the top athletes in the world when it comes to endorsements, ra nked No. 4 on Forbes' list of highest-paid athletes in 2011.
