Second Serve

In their first ever tournament as a tandem on tour, Coco Gauff and Caty McNally claimed the Citi Open women’s double trophy with a 6-2 6-2 victory over Fanny Stollar and Maria Sanchez.

The 15-year-old and 17-year-old tandem did not drop a set all week in D.C.

Gauff and McNally have a knack for playing strong doubles together. Gauff and McNally won the U.S. Open Girls Doubles title together in just their second event as a team last September.

"I think for me, and I think for both of us, [winning in doubles] means a lot," Gauff admitted. "Obviously we want to do well in singles, but I think we just love competing in general, so whether it's singles or doubles, we want to win no matter what."

The pair plan to play together at the U.S. Open, and hope to receive a wild card into main draw or qualifying.
