Dimitrov’s Shank Leads to Fan’s Moment

Things didn’t go as planned for Grigor Dimitrov on this point during his first-round victory over Gilles Simon on Monday in Brisbane, but thanks to an ever alert fan, the Bulgarian’s shank made the highlight reel nonetheless. It was very nice of this fan to take a break from his mobile phone to grace us with his presence!

Dimitrov, who struggled through 2015 with a 33-22 record and zero titles, hired Juan Martin del Potro’s former coach Franco Davin in September.

The 24-year-old, currently ranked 28, lost six of his last seven against the ATP’s Top-20 in 2015, but has started the season 1-0 after his 6-3, 7-6(10) victory over Simon. Dimitrov will be tested by either Viktor Troicki or Steve Johnson in the second round, and could face Roger Federer in the quarterfinals at Brisbane.
