Roger Federer's practice sessions always attract attention.

His Brisbane practice prompted some scrutiny over Federer's health. Federer cut his typical hour-long practice to about a half an hour.

The defending Brisbane champion is scheduled to face Germany's Tobias Kamke in his opening match on Thursday.

The Courier-Mail reports Federer requested a Thursday start rather than playing his opener on Wednesday, prompting rumors he may be bothered by injury or illness. The delayed start means Federer would have to play four matches in four days should he reach the Brisbane final.

The Australian newspaper reports fellow players suggest the 17-time Grand Slam champion has consulted a doctor in Brisbane, though neither Federer nor the Brisbane International has announced any injury issue.
