Marius Copil is ready to Rock the Croc. The 28-year-old Romanian, who reached a career-high ranking of 56 in the world this week, has inked a deal with Lacoste.
Copil joins Jeremy Chardy among players who wear Lacoste apparel and play with Tecnifibre racquets. It could be a sight that we see more commonly on tour, as Tecnifibre and Lacoste have joined forces (Lacoste purchased Tecnifibre late in 2017) and have a collaborative strategy in place.
“With Lacoste on one side and Tecnifibre on the other side we are today potentially the only group which could be in the position to say ‘Okay there is the needs of the players and we are able today to bring 100 percent of the product to fit the needs of the players, so this is very interesting,” Tecnifibre CEO Nicolas Préault told Tennis Now. “This is the reason why we want to set up a new approach, even for Lacoste, which is an approach of a sport performance group based on tennis and squash with two brands, which are two specialty brands, one on textile and shoes, the other one on equipment, to be sure that we will fit 100 percent the needs of the players.”
Lacoste and Tecnifibre have also collaborated in support of the #PetitsCrocos movement, which works with parents and coaches of junior players to help them achieve their goals in tennis.
