Goran Ivanisevic signed on to coach Elena Rybakina late last season, saying he was looking forward to the challenge of helping the former Wimbledon champion regain her top form.

The pairing was announced by Rybakina at the WTA Finals in November, but it has already dissolved.

The former Wimbledon champion and coach of Novak Djokovic announced the news today on social media, saying “After our trial period that finished with Australian Open, I wish Elena and her team best of luck moving forward."

It has been a controversial time for Rybakina, who announced she was bringing back former coach Stefano Vukov earlier this month. But Vukov has been provisionally suspended by the WTA Tour for conduct violations, so was denied a credential to the Australian Open.

Ivanisevic was reportedly blindsided by the news. He stayed with Rybakina through United Cup and the Australian Open, but is now back on the market.

Meanwhile, word on an official suspension for Vukov has not come yet, and Rybakina, who lost in the fourth round in Melbourne to Madison Keys, would be coachless once again if Vukov is not permitted to return.

According to the Athletic, a decision / announcement on Vukov's suspension should be coming after the Australian Open, if not sooner.
