Second Serve - A Tennis Now Blog

Second Serve

The brief run of Belarusian WTAer Olga Govortsova at this year's Wimbledon -- she fell in the second round to Klara Zakopalova 6-1, 6-2 -- was enough for us to get another peek at the clothing from Peak Sport, the Chinese company that's teamed up with the WTA to sponsor its Asia-Pacific tournaments. The brand received licensing and merchandising rights for that WTA-PEAK line of apparel (as seen on Olga).

Nothing revolutionary (which we've come to expect from most of these up-and-coming Chinese labels), but sometimes imitation can be the best form of success; this corset dress is reminiscent of the many things Nike's put on Maria Sharapova (see: 2007 Australian Open).

Draw: Zakopalova will next face Francesca Schiavone for a spot in the fourth round (in that bottom half; see the draw).
