Laura Robson to Join BBC and Commentate Wimbledon

Great Britain's Laura Robson, who has not played since the Australian Open due to a wrist injury, will join the BBC commentary team for Wimbledon as she recovers from surgery. While numerous former players have made a successful transition to the commentary booth, Robson's debut marks a unique instance in which an active player will offer insights to the game.

While reigning Wimbledon champion Marion Bartoli will not be competing at the event after announcing her retirement from the game last summer, she has also signed up to join the BBC commentary team. Boris Becker will not return to the BBC this year, as he has coaching commitments to Novak Djokovic.

BBC's John Inverdale Puts Foot in Mouth While Explaining Bartoli Insult at Wimbledon Last Year

John Inverdale has been replaced by Clare Balding as the host of Radio 5 Live's Wimbledon coverage but will return as the presenter of Today at Wimbledon on BBC2. Inverdale is most known for his comments last year regarding Bartoli, where he wondered on-air if her father, Walter, ever told her that she "would never be a looker."

The BBC's line-up of pundits also includes Tracy Austin, Pat Cash, Lindsay Davenport, Goran Ivanisevic, Richard Krajicek, Mary Pierce, Andrew Castle and Virginia Wade, while featuring the return of Jimmy Connors for TV.
