Texas Wild Tennis to Host "Wild Texas Nights" in July

Individual tickets are now on sale for the Texas Wild, Irving’s professional tennis team. The Wild begins their second season of Mylan World TeamTennis action on July 8 at the Four Seasons Resort and Club Dallas at Las Colinas in Irving, Texas.

The team will play seven regular season home matches during July. The Texas Wild’s roster has three returning players from last year’s Western Conference finalist team -- Alex Bogomolov Jr., Darija Jurak, and Aisam Qureshi. Newcomer Anabel Medina Garrigues will make her debut for the Texas Wild on July 6 in their season opener at Boston. Garrigues won two WTA doubles titles in 2014 with Yaroslava Shvedova and is currently ranked No. 22 in the world in doubles. Garrigues has two Grand Slam titles, won the silver medal for women’s doubles at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, and has a career high singles ranking of No. 16.

The Texas Wild will hold its season home opener on Tuesday July 8, against the defending Mylan WTT champion Washington Kastles, featuring 2013 US Open doubles champion Leander Paes.

Ladies Night will be held Friday, July 11, with special ticket discounts and the opportunity to win prize packages.

On Sunday, July 13, the Texas Wild will host a USTA Family Fun night with all grandstand seats at a discounted price. The opposing team, the San Diego Aviators, will be bringing the winner of six WTA singles titles, Daniela Hantuchova as part of their lineup.

The following Tuesday, July 15, the Wild will face the Springfield Lasers. Partnering with CBS, individual grandstand tickets will be at a special discounted price.

The City of Irving will present a “Texas Throwdown” Tuesday, July 17 when the Wild hosts our southern rival, the Austin Aces. All local residents will receive a special discounted price for grandstand seats. The Aces will be bringing former No. 2 player in the world, Vera Zvonareva.

On Saturday, July 19, the Texas Wild will hold Retro Night, offering discounts to all dressed up for the theme, and also offering a chance to win prizes at halftime for the best retro dressed.

The last home match of the season, July 20, will be Dallas Tennis Association and Northeast Tarrant Tennis night, with discounts for members of these organizations. Zvonareva will lead the Austin Aces back to Irving.

Individual match tickets begin as low as $30 per ticket. Group ticket discounts and season tickets are also available by calling the team office at 972‐823-WILD.
