A pair of Grand Slam champions have pulled out of the Tokyo Olympics.
Simona Halep and Stan Wawrinka have both stepped out of the Olympics after injuries forced them out of Wimbledon.

The pair join fellow Grand Slam champions Rafael Nadal, Serena Williams and Dominic Thiem in opting out of the Olympic Games.
Three-time major winner Wawrinka, who partnered buddy Roger Federer to capture the doubles gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Games, is recovering from left foot surgery. The 36-year-old Swiss has not played a match since suffering a three-set loss to Lloyd Harris in his Doha opener in March.
World No. 3 Halep has been rehabbing a left calf injury she initially sustained in Rome. Halep traveled to Wimbledon hoping to defend her title, but her calf has not healed.
"Nothing brings me more pride than representing Romania, but sadly the recovery from my calf injury requires more time and I have made the decision to withdraw from the Olympic Games this summer," Halep posted on Twitter. "After the disappointment of missing the French Open and Wimbledon having to skip the Olympics is incredibly tough to digest, but I am determined to come back stronger."
