ATP
Rafael Nadal's conquest of Indian Wells vaulted him back to No. 4 in the world on Monday as the latest ATP rankings were released.

Nadal displaced fellow Spaniard David Ferrer, who had enjoyed six weeks at the fourth position, tying his career-best placement.

Nadal will have to keep firing on all cylinders if he hopes to maintain the No. 4 spot. Last year, he reached the semifinals at Miami and won Rome, Monte Carlo, Barcelona and the French Open between March and May. A slip at any of those destinations in 2013 will open the door for Ferrer to move back ahead of him.

Despite the sheer size of Indian Wells as a Masters 1000 tournament, Nadal and Ferrer were the only movers in the Top 10. The biggest moves in the Top 20 were both by Americans, as Sam Querrey rose three spots to No. 20 while John Isner plummeted eight to No. 23.

Querrey made the fourth round at Indian Wells before losing to No. 1 Novak Djokovic, while Isner was upset in the second round by No. 98 Lleyton Hewitt.

Isner is just 6-6 on the season.

While Isner struggled, another of the tour's tallest players jumped into the Top 30 with his strong performance. South Africa's Kevin Anderson rose eight spots to No. 29

WTA
Indian Wells champion Maria Sharapova reclaimed the No. 2 spot in the world, bouncing Australian Open champion Victoria Azarenka down to No. 3 in the latest WTA rankings released on Monday.

Sharapova closed within 350 points of idle No. 1 Serena Williams. Sharapova is looking to regain the No. 1 spot for s sixth time in her career. She has held it for 21 total weeks, including four straight after winning the French Open last summer.

Williams is in her sixth straight week and 129th overall as the No. 1 player in the world.

In all, six players made moves inside the Top 10, including runner-up Carolinw Wozniacki, who moved back up to No. 9, and Sara Errani who reclaime dseventh as both Petra Kvitova (8th) and Samantha Stosur (10th) fell a spot.

Russian semifinalist Maria Kirilenko jumped two spots to No. 13, and American phenom Sloane Stephens rose one spot to 16th, with Venus Williams up two spots to 18th.
