October 7: American Sam Querrey, currently ranked No. 26 in the world, is 25. Querrey has won seven career titles and reached the fourth round of both Wimbledon and the US Open. He's been ranked as high as No. 17 in the world.
 
October 15: Elena Dementieva, the 2008 gold medalist in women's singles, is 42. Demeniteva won 16 titles and was ranked as high as No. 3 in the world before retirign at the end of the 2010 season. Dementieva reached the finals of both the French and US Opens in 2004, and was No. 9 in the world at the time of her retirement.

American Roscoe Tanner turns 61. Tanner won the 1977 Australian Open and reached the finals of Wimbledon in 1979. He won 16 singles and 13 doubles titles overall, and was ranked as high as fourth in the world.
