Muguruza Carves a Halloween Pumpkin, er, Dropper vs. Safarova





Beware WTA, because if Garbine Muguruza starts mixing in drop shots like this with her jaw-dropping power, the woman will become absolutely indefensible. During Monday’s win over Lucie Safarova, Muguruza tossed in this piece of carving to befuddle the Czech in the second set.

We’re told that the ball later had to be taken out of play because it had been carved to look like a Jack-o’-lantern by Muguruza.

It is that time of year, after all. Muguruza will face Angelique Kerber tonight in Singapore. With a win and a loss by Petra Kvitova, Muguruza can qualify for the semifinals in first place in the White Group.
