Stefanos Tsitsipas is one step from his first title of 2023 at the Mifel Tennis Open in Los Cabos.

The top seed nailed down an impressive 6-3, 6-2 victory over former nemesis Borna Coric on Friday night to reach his third final of the season – he will face Australia’s Alex de Minaur in the final.

De Minaur, who topped Dominik Koepfer 6-2, 6-7(5), 6-1 to stretch his winning streak to nine matches on Mexican soil in 2023, owns a 0-9 lifetime record against Tsitsipas.

The fifth-ranked Greek does not take the lopsided rivalry for granted however.

“It’s a brand new match for me,” said 24-year-old Tsitsipas. “He’s someone that has played a lot of matches this week, so he’s on a good run. So am I. I’m going to try and put up a fight out there and give it my best shot. Tomorrow is a big fight for me.”

Tsitsipas has defeated Coric three times in 2023, after entering the year with a 1-3 record against the Croatian with three consecutive losses.

He needed just 71 minutes to tackle the No.4 seed, and dropped just seven points on serve.

De Minaur rebounded from losing the second set with a brilliant decider that saw him break the German three times as he ran away to finish his victory in two hours and 24 minutes.
