The Australian Open starts on January 16th.

The AO draw is set for Thursday at 3 p.m. Melbourne time in the main Australian Open interview room.

A year ago, Nadal delivered the comeback of his career battling by Daniil Medvedev 2-6, 6-7(5), 6-4, 6-4, 7-5 to capture a men’s record 21st Grand Slam title in an epic and astounding Australian Open final.

With world No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz out nursing a right leg injury, Nadal moves into the top seed spot.

The 36-year-old Nadal aims to defend a hard-court major for the first time in his career and hold off Novak Djokovic's bid to capture a 22nd major crown and equal the Spanish superstar's men's mark.

Nine-time AO champion Djokovic rides a 21-match Melbourne winning streak into his return.
