Jack Draper defeated Jan-Lennard Struff on Friday at the Sofia, and made a bit of history for British tennis in the process.

The 21-year-old became the youngest British finalist on the ATP Tour since Andy Murray in 2009 – he will face either Adrian Mannarino or Pavel Kotov for the title.

“Obviously very proud,” he said. “Andy is an amazing player and I hope that one day I can do what he has done in the sport but there is a long way to go and I’ll keep trying.”

Draper saved seven of eight break points including all five he faced in the second set.

The former World No.38 (ranked 82 this week) is riding a nine-match winning streak after capturing the Bergamo Challenger title last week.

Draper improves to 19-10 at tour-level this season.

“I didn’t serve as well today, the opponent was putting a lot of pressure on serve – it was tough out here, there were some tense moments, I was nervous but I came through it well.”
