(April 15th, 2012) Though she was the lowest ranked player of the "Fantastico Four" who entered this week's Barcelona Ladies Open, Sara Errani continued Italy's current tradition of winning the event as she claimed her second title of the year.

Facing No. 3 seed Dominika Cibulkova, Errani battled with the tiny Slovakian early in the match as neither woman could hold serve until Errani managed to do so to take a 4-2 advantage. A double fault from Cibulkova gave Errani a double break lead and from there Errani closed out the set with help from an errant Cibulkova backhand.

Errani broke Cibulkova at love to start the second set and it wasn't until the third game that Cibulkova finally held serve for the first time in the match. But Errani's dominating defense and her ability to hit clean winners off of Cibulkova's second serve allowed the Italian to remain in control throughout the day.

A forehand drop shot off of Errani's racquet gave her a double break lead at 4-1 and from there she went ahead to within a game of the title. Missing on her first two match point opportunities on Cibulkova's serve, Errani finally converted on her third try when Cibulkova netted a forehand to give the Italian a 6-2, 6-2 victory.

Errani didn't drop a set all week as she earned her second title of the year, her first being earlier in Acapulco, and remains undefeated during the clay court season.

Errani also won the doubles title with her partner Roberta Vinci 6-0, 6-2 over fellow Italians Francesca Schiavone and Flavia Pennetta.
