(October 9, 2010) Caroline Wozniacki overcame a strained knee to dispatch Shahar Peer and Vera Zvonareva withstood the Chinese crowd in dispensing Li Na at the China Open. New World No. 1 Wozniacki and the soon-to-be No. 3 Zvonareva will square off in Sunday's Beijing final that is a rematch of the US Open semifinals.

Wozniacki, who beat Elena Dementieva in last weekend's Tokyo final, is bidding for her sixth tournament title of the season following championships in titles New Haven, Montreal, Copenhagen and Ponte Vedra Beach. She is 29-2 in her last 31 matches.

Zvonareva swept Wozniacki, 6-4, 6-3, in New York last month to take a 3-2 lead in their head-to-head series.

The top-seeded Wozniacki strained her knee when she tumbled to the court in the second set of her 7-6(1), 6-4, quarterfinal win over former World No. 1 Ana Ivanovic on Friday.

Today, Wozniacki played with taping on her knee and said she felt better in scoring a 7-5, 6-2 victory over the 15th-seeded Peer.

"My knee felt better today than it did yesterday," Wozniacki said.  "I've had a lot of treatment on it. I still felt it a little bit but it's not getting worse, so that's a positive thing."

Zvonareva beat the ninth-seeded Li, 6-3 6-3.

"I think Li was going for lot of risky shots so she suffered unforced errors," Zvonareva said. "I knew I just had to hang in there and try to counter-punch her if I got the chance. I think I did that well."
