Roger Federer, Wimbledon 2014

Do we need to spell it out for you? It's time for the m-e-d-i-a m-a-s-h.

Couldn’t make your way to SW 19 this year? No worries, we’ve got you covered. Take a tour around the hallowed grounds of the All England Club without ever leaving your computer monitor with the Media Mash.

Clay, grass – it doesn’t matter, Gael just loooooooves to fly! Oh, by the way, Monfils was a 7-6(5), 7-5, 6-4 winner over Malik Jaziri today. He’ll face Jiri Veseley in round two.

It was a hard-fought, four-set victory for Rafael Nadal on Day 2, and with it came a well-earned milestone. Nadal is now one of 11 players to have reached the 700-win mark in ATP history. Next up? A heavily anticipated rematch with Lukas Rosol in round two.

Clearly Lleyton Hewitt is well-suited to be a punk rocker in his next life. But in this life he’s one heck of a grass-court player. The Aussie punched his way to a four-set victory over Poland’s Michal Przysiezny. It was his 122nd grass-court win, which is second among active players.

Speaking of those who are preternaturally gifted on the grass, the man they call the maestro eased past Paolo Lorenzi with effortless grace, 6-1, 6-1, 6-3, and will face hard-serving lefty Gilles Muller in round two. That’s 68-8 at Wimbledon, and 126-18 on grass for Roger Federer.

Okay, we’ll take one of everything, AND ALL THE TOWELS YOU HAVE!!! Just put it on my card, the name’s Murray, Andy Murray…

The caption reads: Court 18 bliss. Very apt, in our opinion. What a gorgeous court, perfectly intimate, yet allowing for terraced viewing a la Grandstand.

Don’t be sorry Marion, we wanted you to cry and we were crying with you…

After the crying it was time for Sabine Lisicki to forget about the tears she cried in last year’s final and remember what playing at Wimbledon means to her. Does Sabine have another Wimbledon run in her?

And, like a true grass-court maven, Feliciano won his opening-round match in three tiebreakers, 7-6(6) 7-6(6) 7-6(7), over Japan’s Yuichi Sugita.

We think we just realized what we’re going to be for Halloween this year, complete with a can of Slazengers…

Okay, Andy may be kind of monotone at times, but he’s OUR ANDY and we love him. Plus, he saves dogs on his way to practice, loves his mum, and is a DAMN GOOD grass court player. Still, this is six seconds of hilarity…

Interesting parental stat, via Darren Cahill’s Twitter feed. Is that really all of them?

The Wolverine digs his tennis. Don’t know what to make of the facial hair, but the clapping looks proper. Rumor has it that Hugh Jackman was last seen being ushered off the grounds after making a pass at Sabine Lisicki in the player’s lounge. It’s a rumor, that we made up, to make you laugh. Did it work?

Anyhow, Sabine didn’t seem offended, so that’s good.

Last but not least: This is just weird. Seven-time champion. Well-dressed guy. Wears a Rolex. Has a nice backhand. C’mon, Wimbledon, you must have his picture by now, he’s played your tournament 16 years in a row.
