Sometimes the tennis grind can be taxing, but Rafa is feeling good after dropping only four games in his fourth-round match. That should leave him with plenty of petrol in the tank for his quarterfinal with David Ferrer.
An utterly divine photo of Simona Halep with her torso tweaked and racquet ready to fire. Open stance, bien sur. Halep advance past Sloane Stephens to reach her second consecutive Grand Slam quarterfinal. The Romanian could reach No. 3 in the rankings if she reaches the final.
It was that kind of day for Fernando Verdasco. He played magnificently at times, but in the end he couldn’t come up with the big shots when he had to. So he yelled at Pascal Maria and attempted to pull out his own eyeballs. Not a great reaction, but, hey, tennis is no cakewalk…
