(October 21, 2010) A trio of World TeamTennis veterans —  Washington Kastles' star Rennae Stubbs, former world No. 1 doubles standout Mark Knowles of the Sacramento Capitals,  and former world Top 15 Jan-Michael Gambill of the Boston Lobsters — have been added to the field for the 2010 WTT Smash Hits set for November 15  at Bender Arena at American University.   They join a lineup that includes Andre Agassi, James Blake, Steffi Graf, Anna Kournikova and Martina Navratilova for the annual charity event co-hosted by Sir Elton John and Billie Jean King. 

WTT Smash Hits raises funds for the Elton John AIDS Foundation and the Washington AIDS Partnership.

This will be the second Smash Hits event for Stubbs, who has qualified for the season-ending WTA Tour Championships with Lisa Raymond.  Stubbs is a WTT veteran who led the Washington Kastles to the 2009 WTT Championship.  She is a former world No. 1 in doubles and has won 60 doubles titles including four Grand Slam doubles titles and two Grand Slam mixed titles.  Stubbs has been a four-time member of the Australian Olympic team and has also been on four WTT Championship teams.

Knowles, who won his 53rd career doubles title earlier this year, is making his Smash Hits debut.  Knowles has been a WTT standout for each of his nine seasons with Sacramento, earning Male MVP honors three times and leading the Caps to two of their six Championship titles.  In April 2010, he became only the fifth player in ATP history to record 700 doubles wins.

Gambill joins his Boston Lobsters teammate James Blake for his second Smash Hits event.  Gambill won three singles and five doubles titles on the ATP Tour, reaching career high rankings of No. 14 in singles and No. 23 in doubles.  Gambill also has wins over players ranked No. 1 in the world including Pete Sampras, Andre Agassi, Jim Courier, and Lleyton Hewitt.
