Second time was a charm for Spain’s Albert Ramos-Vinolas in Cordoba.

The Spaniard fell in the final last year, losing to Juan Manuel Cerundolo in three sets. This year Ramos-Vinolas, ranked 44, took it a step further as he rallied back from a set down to topple Chilean qualifier Alejandro Tabilo, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4.

Ramos-Vinolas bags his fourth ATP title, despite being down a set and 2-0 against the World No.144. The Spaniard took the final four games of the middle set to force a decider, then promptly fell behind by a break in the third set.

Soon the 34-year-old southpaw would find himself down 4-1 in the final set, but he flipped the script and raced off with the final five games, leaving Tabilo, who was in search of his first ATP title, stunned.

Tabilo had a break point at 4-4, 30-40 on Ramos-Vinolas’ serve, but could not convert against the former World No.17, who has won more Cordoba Open matches than any other player, with 12 wins against 3 defeats at the event.
