Mallory Burdette (August 10, 2012) -- The USTA announced on Thursday that 21-year-old Stanford standout Mallory Burdette has earned a main draw wildcard into this year's US Open.

Burdette, who earned her wildcard by earning the most WTA Tour ranking points at two of three USTA Pro Circuit hard-court events this summer, defeated Jessica Pegula in the Vancouver final last weekend. The World No. 245 also won a $10,000 challenger in Evansville, Indiana this summer.

The rising senior captured the 2012 NCAA doubles crown alongside Nicole Gibbs,  and also faced off with Gibbs in the singles final, losing in three sets. It was the first time in history, men's or women's, that teammates played in the singles final before later pairing up in the doubles final.

Last month, Burdette won her first WTA match at the Bank of the West Classic, then lost to Marion Bartoli in the next round.

The men's tournament-based wildcard playoff is currently lead by Denis Kudla, who won the $50,000 Lexington challenger last month. The eventual winner will have gained the best combined results in two of the following four USTA Pro Circuit hard-court events: Binghamton, Lexington, Aptos and Vancouver.
